Signal ConvertersSignal converters convert the format of the input signals into the desired output format. In addition to the pure conversion of signals, signal converters also offer the possibility of filtering or linearizing signals. A signal transmitter is a device that transmits data from one place to another. In the case of mechanical equipment, a signal transmitter sends a process signal like temperature, pressure or humidity from a measurement apparatus to an electronic device like a panel meter, controller or computer. In the machinery or test environment, signal transmission is of critical importance. This is because of the nature of testing itself.
Signal IsolatorsSignal isolators provide electrical (galvanic) isolation between the input and output circuits. They couple the signal to the output through a transformer or optical isolator. Signal isolators also break the direct electrical galvanic path between two or more loop points. They protect against dangerous measured-variable voltages and increase protection from surges and spikes.
Trip AmplifiersA trip amplifier is a device that allows an Analogue signal to be converted to a Digital output. The digital output controls the variation of a physical unit in a system measured by temperature sensors or normalized signals and operates when the measured value goes outside predetermined limits, energizing or de-energizing the relay controlling devices like valves and actuators.
TransducersA transducer is a device that converts energy from one form to another. Usually a transducer converts a signal in one form of energy to a signal in another.
Panel Meters/DisplaysPanel meters are instruments that display an input signal in an analogue or digital form.
Arithmetic/Special UnitsAn arithmetic unit is a hardware subsystem that performs arithmetic operations on binary inputs.
