Carbon Reduction Plan
Company: Amelec Technical Solutions Ltd (Trading as Amelec Instruments)
Address: Unit 5 Cochran close, Crownhill, Milton Keynes, UK
1. Commitment to Net Zero
Amelec Instruments is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in alignment with UK Government targets. We aim to continually monitor, reduce, and offset emissions generated through our operations, including Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions.
2. Baseline Emissions Footprint
We are currently developing a baseline emissions profile for our operations. Due to the nature of our low-energy, light manufacturing processes, our emissions are predominantly Scope 2 (electricity) and Scope 3 (indirect).
3. Emissions Reduction Targets
– Reduce electricity consumption by 10% by 2028 through use of energy-efficient lighting and equipment.
– Encourage hybrid and remote working where practical to reduce travel-related emissions.
– Increase use of reusable and recyclable packaging materials in all outgoing shipments.
4. Current Initiatives
– LED lighting installed in office and production areas.
– Participation in local recycling programs for paper, cardboard, and electronic waste.
– Low-volume manufacturing techniques to minimise waste and energy use.
5. Monitoring and Reporting
Carbon reduction initiatives are reviewed annually by the Director. Metrics such as energy use, waste generation, and supply chain practices are monitored. We plan to establish formal carbon tracking mechanisms using third-party tools or consultancies by 2026.
6. Responsibility
Management is responsible for ensuring the implementation of this Carbon Reduction Plan and its continual review and update in line with emerging best practices and regulations.
