Amelec range of Hart compatible
Isolators offer full protection without losing bi-directional communication
link between your SMART equipment and the process monitoring equipment, such as DCS.
The option "H" is available on most series of Isolators we offer. The Block
diagram below shows a typical set-up using AEC230H.
Because the
HART signal is superimposed on to the 4-20mA signal, it can utilise existing
wiring already in place. The HART isolator can easily replace existing non-compatible isolator or be added in to the loop with no major changes to the
wiring, thus keeping installation cost to a minimum.
Benefits of
using HART compatible Isolators:
Protect IO
cards and expensive equipment from surge, spikes, transient and over loads.
Eliminate
ground loop problems, this can be difficult to troubleshoot but avoided easily
with an Isolator.
Protects
your primary 4-20mA signal from loop breaks on the secondary side. This means
any equipment connected on the output can be safely removed without affecting
the input loop, avoiding any unnecessary down time.
The HART
compatibility option is also available on our range of signal splitter, this
will take one 4 - 20mA signal in and give two isolated 4 - 20mA out. The output
1 is made HART compatible and output 2 is standard 4-20mA output. On request
both outputs can be made HART compatible. The diagram
below shows a typical setup using AEC231H signal splitter.
